Total Research :-

  • To Explore the role of Advanced Glycation End products on Receptor for Advanced Glycation Endproducts (RAGE) signaling pathway in development of Parkinson’s disease’ Under the guidance of Dr. Ravi P Shah and Dr. Amit Khairnar and in this study, we have shown how correlate the missing pieces on glycated α-Syn (which could be generated in diabetes) induced dopaminergic neurodegeneration acting through AGE/RAGE signaling cascade.
  • Is Intestinal Inflammation leads to the progression of Parkinson’s disease? Under the guidance of Dr. Amit Khairnar and we have shown how low dose of intragastric rotenone induced the accumulation of alpha-synuclein in intestine and check the transfer of alpha synuclein from gut to brain (Gut-brain axis). Based on this proposal we received the Ramalingaswami Reentry (Fellowship D.O. No. BT/HRD/35/02/2006) from Department of biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India (Grant amount: Approx 1.60 Cr).
  • Chlorogenic acid mediated GLP-1 rlease rendered neuroprotection against rotenone induced Parkinsonian mouse model disease via modulating PI3k/Akt/GSK3β signaling’ Under the guidance of Dr. Amit Khairnar. Animals handing, dosing, performed various animals’ behavioral studies, after completion of study sacrifice and transcardially perfused the animals with 4%PFA and saline, isolation of different parts of brains, like striatum, cortex and whole brain. Performed western blotting of different protein according to our cell signaling cascade. I have done the biochemical estimation (Antioxidant) of animal tissue, like GSH and MDA. In vitro and in-silico docking study also included in this study.
  • Swertiamarin showed neuroprotective effect against rotenone-induced degeneration of dopaminergic neurons by ameliorating neuroinflammation and alpha-synuclein accumulation’ Under the guidance of Dr. Amit Khairnar. Animals handing, expertise stereotactic surgery (intrastriatal stereotactic rotenone injection in mice brain), performed various animals’ behavioral studies, after completion of study sacrifice and transcardially perfused the animals with 4%PFA and saline, isolation of different parts of brains, like striatum, cortex and whole brain. Performed western blotting of different protein according to our cell signaling cascade. Processed the brain tissue for cryo-sectioning, analyze alpha synuclein expression in Substantia Nigra (SN) through immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and to check the degeneration of Tyrosine hydroxylase positive (TH+) neurons through IHC (DAB staining) in striatum and subtania nigra pars compacta (SNc) region of brain.
  • Alpha mangostin confers neuroprotection against rotenone-induced Parkinson’s disease via modulating autophagy and AMPK signaling’ Under the guidance of Dr. Amit Khairnar. Assisting in animals handling and manuscript writing.
